Why Blog?

OK, so let me begin by saying that for some time now I have been so anti-blogs, couldn't stand them, rarely read them, couldn't imagine what would possess someone to want to lay open their personal lives for all the world to see. But mostly I didn't understand them. Until this week.
You see, I have a daughter who is about to turn 18 months old. And like any mother, I want what is best for her, to raise her the best that I can. I have been doing alot of thinking, and soul-searching, and studying, and have decided to seriously look into homeschooling. As I have been searching the internet looking for advice and information, I have found that some of the best reading I have found on the subject has been on other mothers blogs. If it wasn't for their openness, honesty and willingness to share what they have learned and maybe what has worked (or not) for them, there is alot of great info I would have missed. And so you have won me over. I am so thankful to have found you and hope to continue to grow and learn from you.

But I want this blog to be about more than contemplating homeschooling. As I rapidly approach the big 3-0 I stop to take a look at where I stand and where I am hoping to go, and I see that my life today and the path that got me here is nothing like I had expected it to be. I hope to use this as a journal to celebrate my past, treasure my present, and continue to look forward to each tomorrow I am given as the gift it is.
