This is a photo of me wearing a dress my mother made for me. I am guessing it was taken about 1982, I was 3 years old. My mom was and still is a fantastic seamstress. She not only made the dress for me, she also made a matching suit for my baby brother! This was one of the only "real" photo shoots we had growing up, and these pictures have always been special to me.
Over the years, mom has borrowed this dress out to many, it has made the rounds and been worn by cousins, nieces, and family friends. When we went to visit my parents for Easter this past March, mom said it was finally Kaylee's turn to have the dress to wear. So now that our roses are in bloom, I thought they would make a lovely background for a picture of Kaylee wearing her mommy's special handmade dress.

Now I can send the dress & this picture back to mom someday, and she can have memories of two generations wearing a fancy little dress she lovingly made so many years ago!
I hope to come up with some more memories to share next week! For more Show & Tell Fridays, visit There is no place like Home

How sweet!!
Some of the dresses I made for my girls have been worn by my DGD...
*sigh*
How very sweet. My Mom was such a wonderful seamstress too and my son's daughter wore some of the baby things she made for him. Mom truly loved seeing a different generation use them..
:)
What a sweet dress and I love how your daughter can now wear it...very special!

Your little girl looks just like you (maybe a little lighter hair color, but otherwise....just like you!) What fun.
The dress is so pretty. That is sweet that it was saved and your daughter can wear it too.
